Divine Mercy RetreatApril 21 - 23, 2017
ATTENTION ALL MEN and WOMEN (16 yrs.& over with Adult) are invited to attend a spiritual weekend.
Take this opportunity to learn more about yourself and God's Mercy and Trust in Jesus.The Retreat is to be held at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey in Pecos, NM from Friday April 1, to Sunday April 3, 2016. Last year we had Archbishop Emeritus Michael J. Sheehan of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as our Retreat Master. This year's Retreat facilitator will be the Most Reverend Ricardo Ramirez Bishop Emeritus of Las Cruces.
Plan to arrive Friday afternoon between the hours of 3:00 - 5:00 pm in order to get settled in your rooms. The retreat will start with supper at 5:30 pm on Friday, followed by introductions and the Sacrament of Reconciliation with priests from the monastery and the surrounding area) beginning at 6:30 pm. On Saturday, Mass will be offered at 7:30 am. (Reception of Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Reconciliation fulfill two of the conditions for obtaining a Divine Mercy plenary indulgence.) Breakfast and two talks by our retreat master round out the Saturday morning schedule.
Lunch is served at 12:15 pm. The afternoon begins with a group Bible reading. (We encourage you to bring your Bible or plan on purchasing one at the Monastery.) The rest of the afternoon is free for your own spiritual needs. You can join the monks for the Rosary at 4:30 pm and Vespers at 5:00 pm or you may wish to rest, or hike in the upper Pecos River area. Anglers can try their luck fishing the Pecos River or Monastery Lake right on the monastery grounds( a NM fishing license is required). Supper is at 5:30 pm, followed by the Sacrament of Anointing at 8:00 pm in the Abbey's Chapel.
Sunday morning starts with breakfast at 7:30 am, followed by Mass at 9:30 am in the Samuel Jarvis Conference Center. We will have a final session for you to share your retreat experiences with our retreat master at 11:00 am, followed by our closing meal at 12:15 pm. These Retreats have been well received over the years, and you ladies are encouraged to support the men in your life who may wish to attend. Plan to invite members of your family, friends, or any man that might benefit from a healing weekend retreat.
