Pecos Benedictine School of Spiritual Direction

June 5 - July 2, 2016
Follow-up for 2015 July 10 - 24, 2016

Have you heard a gentle whisper or perhaps a rushing wind beckoning you to a more committed life in the Lord Jesus Christ and His church? The Pecos Benedictine School for Spiritual Direction may be the answer to the yearning of your heart.

The school provides the participants the opportunity for growth in a monastic setting using the four pillars of religious formation. Students will enter into the rhythm of monastic life joining the community in prayer, study and the activities of daily living. This course is designed in two parts. The initial phase lasts about thirty days and introduces the participant to living a more balanced life style and deepening one's relationship with God. The school is multifaceted providing each individual the opportunity for a life changing experience bringing about inner healing and wholeness. While at the monastery, each student will have a personal Spiritual Director. Following this first phase, participants will leave the monastery and pursue additional personal studies. The second phase is usually scheduled the following summer when participants return to the monastery for a two week session. A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of this session. Many graduates of the school have chosen to become Spiritual Directors assisting others in their walk with the Lord Jesus.

The school started in January 1979 by the late +David Geraets, OSB first Abbot of Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey. The school has had graduates from all 50 states and 16 foreign countries. Abbot David was a visionary and leaves a legacy to continue to bring people to a deeper abiding love of God through the school of Spiritual Direction.
