Jesus of Nazareth Book Study Series
Christian dogma at its very core involves an understanding of who Jesus Christ is. Christian morality entails the practice of the moral and theological virtues as typified in the life of Jesus. The sacramental economy and the Church itself can only be understood in the light of Christ. Christian Catholic spirituality is grounded on developing a profound dialogue with Jesus and allowing Him to transform our lives. To understand Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition they must be viewed from a Christological perspective.
But who is Jesus Christ? How can He be understood by 21st century men and women? Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI appreciated the need for contemporary Christians to get to know and better appreciate the Person who stands at the center of their religious and spiritual lives. In responding to this need he wrote a trilogy of books dealing with the Scriptural basis for our understanding of Jesus.
These three books will be the subject of a book study series to be led by Br. Edmond Myszkier, OSB oliv. at the Pecos Benedictine Monastery.
Br. Edmond has MA degrees in Catechetics and Theology and has also earned a Master of Divinity degree from Holy Apostles Seminary. He has taught from Benedict XVI’s series in the past and looks forward to sharing this material with others.
